Eye Talk eye glue
01/25/2005 @ 12:00 am
A few days ago, we carried a report about a vibrator designed to raise the profile of the nose.
Today we have another beauty aid making the rounds in Japan - eyelid glue!
The Eye Talk kit contains eyelid glue, a “pusher,” and everything else you need to give the Oriental eye an attractive roundness, without cosmetic surgery.
You can see the Japanese-language website for Eye Talk here, and even a video presentation here, again in Japanese.
I wonder if Super Glue and toothpicks would work. . . .?
*looks at her own asian almond eyes and goes BLEH!!!*

January 26th, 2005 at 12:21 amTrust the Japanese to come up with a device that creates the double-eyelid look. Or one that gives you a longer nose.
Facinating! What nutty the desire to look… uhm… to look like uuuh… what exactly?
Nice blog man, I’m going to poke around.

What the f**k is an oriental?
January 26th, 2005 at 6:12 amFrom the American Heritage Dictionary:
Oriental
Of or relating to the countries of the Orient or their peoples or cultures.
Orient
January 26th, 2005 at 12:26 pmThe countries of Asia, especially of eastern Asia.
why this obssesion with the double eyelids? Ekk… there is more to life than fulfilling the ideals of others. As a korean girl with natural double eyelids, I think it is highly overrated - I didn’t realize that our society has come to this…
March 10th, 2005 at 8:54 pmWe are born then we die…the point is what did you do/contribute to matter…Will you be merely forgotten or remembered like Einstein or Mozart.
[...] IT STORE! Right now our selection is limited to a few mimikaki, a few character magnets, EyeTalk eyelid glue, and some Janglish (Pigeon Shit) T-shirts, but we plan to be adding [...]
March 30th, 2005 at 12:03 amI want to buy this product
May 14th, 2005 at 3:43 amYeah. WAY OVERATTED. AND alot of asians look quite hot with single eyelids. Meh. Their choice. I’m also borm with natural double eyelids, and think of it as nothing special. I mean, really, what’s SO special?
*scatches head* you don’t look much uglier or prettier…
June 22nd, 2005 at 10:08 ameasy for you double eyelidders to say. maybe they’ll come up with something to squish plate faces to normal.
July 1st, 2005 at 6:26 pmI plan to buy this product…I realllly want double eyelids…people that already have them don’t think much (lucky them…) but since I have single eyelids…-_-;; ………. Well like most people I just wanna try and look good
July 2nd, 2005 at 10:15 ami use eye lid glue… its called eye puchi. but i use it once in a while now since i wanted double eye lids, but now i got them. its cheaper than having a plastic surgery. some mite use them often but yea its kool i think. i like it.
August 1st, 2005 at 12:58 pmI have always wanted a foreskin. I wonder if this glue is just the ticket…..
August 1st, 2005 at 1:52 pmMy right eye has double eyelid, the other isn’t
… I want eyetalku!!
September 2nd, 2005 at 6:51 am“Will you be merely forgotten or remembered like Einstein or Mozart” Koreangirl.
You don’t need to be remembered after you pass just to look good. We all only live once, so whats the trouble if some people wanna look good? I’m an english girl, and i 100% think that if asian girls want to use this product they should, without arrogant narrow-minded people having a problem. Koreangirl, you have double eyelids? Good for you, now please shut-up, i hope you recarnate as a single eye-lided person and see what it would feel like.
“I didn’t realize that our society has come to this…”
I don’t think people would appreciate your arrogant comment. Prety bios if you ask me.
September 23rd, 2005 at 7:02 pmThat’s pretty weird, Sarah…you girls talk as if you were born with an anomaly.
September 24th, 2005 at 5:22 amwell if someone isnt happy with the way they look and want to do something about it, i dont think their should be people having problems with it. it’s a free world and if u have an arrogant view about it, they should keep it to themself
September 26th, 2005 at 1:31 pmhm…easy for the “double eyelids” to say…i honestly dont think you’d be thinking that if you had a single eyelid…me…the space between my eyes and eyebrows…yeah, really big. anyways, most girls dont do this to make their eyes look more western…they do it because its easier to try new makeup styles and stuff…plus, makes your sight range go from small to big
October 11th, 2005 at 5:29 pmHey if it makes you girls happy, go for it. But that applicator thing looks waay too vicious, better be careful now!
This isn’t something that’s limited to the Japanese or Asians in general, most people would prefer their eyes a bit bigger (unless you’re really exceptionally bug-eyed.) You know what they say about windows to the soul… The large eye thing didn’t start with manga/anime anyway, Disney’s characters all had them since the 30’s, and that’s in the roundeye U.S.A.
October 12th, 2005 at 5:11 amI found a link to the “How to Use Eye Talk” Japanese video thru Presurfer Blog. So the incentive for using it is having “double eyelids”? I don’t get it. I am a European American, though. With the eye glue stuff in place, what happens if you get something in your eye to irritate it? Can you blink a lot and tear up to get it out? If you rub your eyes, do they come unstuck?
December 6th, 2005 at 5:57 amLOL her eyeball so hugmongus….i was wondering can you find the eye talk glue product in ontario, canada? >
December 30th, 2005 at 9:14 amI use this product and highly recommend it. It has been GREAT for my SELF ESTEEM and I think makes me not only LOOK but FEEL more ACCEPTED at WORK where I am the ONLY Asian.
January 29th, 2006 at 4:52 pmEye Talk ROCKS!
January 29th, 2006 at 4:54 pmwhere can i buy this?
February 6th, 2006 at 12:19 pmI just bought it. It’s not as easy to use as it seems.
February 13th, 2006 at 10:44 amsad and pathetic! be yourself!!!1:evil:
March 5th, 2006 at 7:16 pmIt’s easy for people already with double eyelid to say it’s nothing special :P…but it’s human nature to have what you don’t have so…

hi, can anyone tell me how much does this product cost? i’m really interested to buy it, can i get it online?
June 17th, 2006 at 3:49 amI’m Korean and I have really small eyes, but this eye glue really interests me! I’ve read the other wall posts about this, and I can totally understand how people without small eyes might think that those of us interested in this might just be trying to change who we are. That’s not really the case, we’re just trying out a new look. Just because we’d like to have bigger eyes, it doesn’t mean we’re trying to deny our ethnicity. When you think about it, it’s kind of like dye-ing your hair, just for a new look or because it can enhance your features. And the best thing, it’s not permanent!
Anybody know where I can order this stuff to try it? Or has anyone already tried it, and does it really work?
July 21st, 2008 at 7:11 amI tried it, but found it didn’t do much for me..so I spent a whole weekend on the couch sniffing the remainder and glued to the TV.

July 21st, 2008 at 4:32 pmI have monolids and I’ve been told all my life by family members that I have ugly eyes and my mother keeps threatening to drag me to a laser clinic to get it done. My western boyfriend loves them and would hate for me to get a crease and look like everyone else. Personally, when I look at my eyes, I don’t think they’re too bad. They’re expressive, they have character. I don’t see why people find them so unsightly, maybe it’s a cultural thing. I would buy Eyetalk just to see what the fuss is about, not because I want to change for other people.
October 19th, 2008 at 1:37 pmI agree with Sarah. I’m a korean girl with “freakin’ HUGE double eyelids” as other people say and I have never used any kind of eye glue. I don’t get all arrogant about it and I think that it’s fine for other people who want to use eye glue to get their desired eye shape to use it and feel good about themselves cuz really…Good self esteem = Happiness.
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:20 amI just bought some today from a Japanese grocery store. It is not that easy to use… and when I close my eyes after it’s dry it looks odd.. like the skin doesn’t look smooth. I do have partial double eyelids.. one side is full double eyelid and the other side isn’t. After using it.. It makes my eyes look rounder, my caucasian husband actually said he can see the difference and he’s not oppose to it as long as i’m happy and not hurting myself. It’s part of being a girl I think… just like putting makeup on or doing our hair… it’s all about enhancing the looks, not that we try to be WHITE I think that is a ridiculous saying. I think some people have issue with us asian girls trying to create double eyelids is because first of all it’s a random strange thing to do and it’s not commonly heard of and second of all if you don’t have that asian eyelids you wouldn’t get it. Kind of like if a white girl try to dye her hair black it is not biggie but if an asian girl wants to go blonde? I do have a very traditional parents and yes they sure got something to say about that! So why do WHITE women go tanning? to be black or mexican? lol
