Stop the bullet, I want to get off
A Shinkansen bullet train train of the East Japan Railway Co. (JR East) made an unscheduled stop for the sake of a high school student who had gotten on by mistake.
The student got on the train on his way to take a university entrance examination. But once it started moving, he realized that the train did not stop at the station he was trying to get to. He talked to the conductor, who consulted with JR officials, and they decided to make an unscheduled stop in order to allow the student to get off and catch the proper train.
JR official stressed that allowing the boy to get off was a very special case, so people should not expect to be able to have the Shinkansen stop on demand.
The student made it to the university in enough time to take the exam, but there was no word on how well he did.
