NK: Japan preparing for invasion of Korea

The North Korean envoy to the U.N. has sent a letter to Secretary General Kofi Annan claiming that Japan is planning to use the disagreement over the Takeshima/Tokto islands as an excuse to invade the Korean Peninsula.

“Japan is modernizing its war machinery and relocating them to spur its military into action,” Park was quoted by the North’s Korean Central Broadcasting Station as saying. “Japan’s military expenditure is only second to the United States.”

Park cites the fact that Japan is beefing up its forces on the country’s west coast as proof that they are planning to invade North Korea.

Since the west coast of Japan faces North Korea and China (both of whom have invaded Japanese territorial waters on numerous occasions in the past), while the east coast faces the vast Pacific Ocean, one has to wonder just how North Korea thinks Japan should be deploying its forces.
