MAJOR SCANDAL – 22-year-old girl has boyfriend!
In one of the biggest scandals to hit Japan since a young professional baseball rookie was caught smoking (several times!), Mari Yaguchi, leader of the popular all-girl pop group Morning Musume, was photographed by a weekly magazine in the presence of a (Gasp!) boyfriend!
The 22-year-old Yaguchi resigned from Morning Musume 
with the revelation, and said she would concentrate on a solo career (full frontal nude photo spread to follow soon, no doubt).
Concerning the incident, Yaguchi said, “I think I’ve betrayed myself as an idol. I’ve lost the qualification to lead the other members of Morning Musume.”
The new leader of Morning Musume will be 20-year-old Hitomi Yoshizawa, who apparently exhibits the required level of latent lesbian tendencies required to qualify for the position.

July 2nd, 2005 at 12:12 amNo, MoMusu sucks NOW. Back in the day before all the subgroups and Tsunku’s lolicon exploded, when it was JUST MoMusu (OK, and Tanpopo’s first incarnation) it was good. Their first two albums were and still are favourites. Then Love Machine hit…and it’s a great song…but it was the beginning of the end.
Come to think of it, that’s about the same time jpop in general started to deteriorate. Hmmm…

Example: “Hey Marie, I heard you and Jonny held hands the other day! Holy shit, you’re a whore! You going out for Playboy next week?!”
Yeah, it’s not a scandal for having a boyfriend. She’s 22 for f**k’s sake, let her do her own thing. Just because she’s a big part of Hello! Project doesn’t mean she’s not entitled to love. No matter how much money you make or how famous you get, you’re always allowed to have your own PERSONAL love. Get the hell out of their business and let them go on their own way. I don’t know why Yaguchi-san resigned though, it’s not that bad to have a boyfriend, she still has leadership potential, she’s been a leader in many side-groups of H!P for a really long time. Oh well. But yeah, another thing I don’t like is how you totally dissed Yossi. So what if she has a manly voice? So what if she has her hair cut short? That doesn’t make her a lesbian right off the bat. You need to wake up to the world before you begin writing stuff you know nothing of.

Shes an Idol, she states that quite clearly and part of the job of the particular idol group shes in is to appear virginal (is that how its spelt??) and appear available. If she has a boyfriend then that image is lost and so her statement (see below) is entirely accurate and true.

Dont get me wrong i would have loved mari to stay i think shes great, was one of my favourite members, but at least now she concentrate on a solo career.

May 20th, 2009 at 9:03 amWow, a BOYFRIEND!!! Wow, that just shows that Japan has very different type of “scandals.” I mean Vanessa fro High School Musical ACTUALLY had NUDE PHOTOS!!! But come on she has a boyfriend. That is common here in America, but the Japanese culture then shows how different they are and maybe they’re culture is better than the American culture.
