We, robots
Japanese scientists have developed a robot suit that makes it possible for the wearer to lift heavier loads than they would be able to hoist unaided.
“Humans may be able to mutate into supermen in the near future,” said Yoshiyuki Sankai, professor and engineer at Tsukuba University who led the project.
The 15-kilogram (33-pound) battery-powered suit, code-named HAL-5, detects muscle movements through electrical-signal flows on the skin surface and then amplifies them.
The robot suit was developed reportedly to help healthcare workers lift the old and infirm when caring for them. But wouldn’t it be nice to have one of these in the back of your car when some jerk cuts you off? As soon as the jerk stops at a stoplight, you get out, lumber over, and lift is car up, and. . .
Ooh, power armor! Where do I sign-up for the Starship Troopers?
