Achieving Nirvana
A 73-year-old Buddhist priest has been arrested for paying underage girls for sex.
The cleric, who was the chief priest of his temple and the director of the its affiliated nursery, confessed also to being a member of a club that specializes in arranging sex with young girls.
[The priest] admitted to the allegations during questioning. “I did it to alleviate my work stress,” he was quoted as telling investigators. He has also confessed to having been a member of a child prostitution club and paid several high school girls to have sex with him on more than 20 occasions.
In the specific case for which he was arrested, [the priest] paid 80,000 yen to a girl, who was a 15-year-old, first-year high school student, to have sex with him at a hotel in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, in August 2004, Tokyo police said.
This guy must be a member of the Energizer Bunny sect.
This is really sad especially when it’s the public donations given at the temples that he had been using for his own selfish gratifications.

March 11th, 2006 at 8:54 amIt is sad, and the guy should hang for his offenses, but the other issue that needs to be tackled, is how and why do these young girls still continue to go in for this enjokosai stuff? In a rich country like Japan, and she was most likely a child of middle-class parents, in other words, parents have money, and a nice house and two cars, why on Earth do these young teens still go in for this?
Just so she can buy a new hangbag or take a trip in the summer to Hawaii?

Funny you should mention that. I think I would prefer to learn that my daughter boffed a bozu for 80,000 rather than doing Kojak for nothing. The former is awful, but understandable. The latter is just plain scary.
Of course, I’d prefer she gets a full scholarship for Harvard to either of the above.
