Pythagorean switch

Pythagorean SwitchClick here to see an amazing video from a Japanese TV kids’ show that has a daily segment in which they combine various objects found around the home (mostly) to construct a machine that surely must be inspiring for the young tykes.

The entire video is nine minutes long, but if you’re like me you will end up staying for the entire thing.

In case you are wondering, the words they are singing at the end of each segment are pi-ta-go-ra su-i-chi, which means “Pythagorean switch.”

Many thanks to Francis Turner for this one!

This is by far my favorite show on Japanese TV. I love those two guys in business suits with their dancing. ^_^;;

Thank you for solving the mystery of what “pi-ta-go-ra” means. I asked my Japanese husband and he said ‘i dunno.’ Love this segment. We used to watch every morning when darling daughter was smaller.
