Noodle burger

An idea man in Fukuoka has started selling what he calls a “noodle burger.”

The meat of the burger is made of leeks, pork, and minced chicken, while two pads of noodles are used in place of the buns.

That’s similar to the concept of the rice burger found in Korea.
September 19th, 2006 at 3:45 amRice burgers were introduced by MosBurger years ago. Being that the Korean rice burger is from Lotteria, it’s likely they borrowed the concept. Lotteria’s policy since the beginning has been to skip the R&D and copy other companies’ successes. Great place to meet yanki girls though.
Noodle burgers are not my cup of ramen, but who knows? I think Sasebo burgers suck, but they are undoubtedly popular.
September 19th, 2006 at 6:07 amPizza Hut in Taiwan now serves a rice pizza. It’s made with a thin sheet of dough as the base, at the bottom, but not rising at all, just a flat cracker base, then cooked rice with seasonings is added as the next layer, and then topped with whatever you want on top. it’s called Rice pizza, brilliant idea. not so fattening, neh?
September 19th, 2006 at 12:28 pmI’ll give a McDonald’s or a KFC joint a wide berth any day for fast food at a MOS Burger, that is, when fast food can’t be avoided.
September 20th, 2006 at 10:57 am@Rick: I would agree with you about preferring MOS to McDonald’s or KFC, except for the fact that I have never, ever been served at MOS in less than 15 minutes. Most of the time it takes 20 minutes or more before I see my food, and that’s even when there are just a few other people in the shop. Pretty annoying for what amounts to fast food fare.
September 21st, 2006 at 10:36 amA-men about the slowness of MOS Burger. They sure seem to be intent on taking the “fast” out of “fast food.”
September 21st, 2006 at 12:44 pmGuess we got better MOS Burger joints down here in the boonies; a ten minute wait is probably tops most of the day. However, I have to admit to its getting awfully long during the lemming rush mealtimes. Since I’m not a lemming, I usually get around that. Besides, our local branch will take phone orders for a specific time of delivery for pickup or to eat in. Can’t beat that for beating the crowd, or for service.
That noodle burger intrigues me. Would like to see MOS Burger come up with one, so I could try it.
