Pockey!!
As most everyone in the world knows, Pockey is a breaded stick like cookie that is usually dipped in chocolate. It comes in many flavors and tastes such as Strawberry, Green Tea etc. They go for about 230 yen for a small box in Japan and about 4 dollars in Canada.
But the commercials… Are PRICELESS! Ladies and gentleman, we offer you The Pockey Ads!
First on the menu: Love Story
Second: The Marriage
Third: Horror Story
Fourth: Charlies Angels
Fifth: Heart Attack
Sixth: So Close
Seventh: AWww MOM!Ok… Well that was strange. Speaking of that, here is an offering thats a little different from the above. It features a girl doing some kind of ridiculous dance. (God bless the marketing geniouses who come up with this stuff!)
And just to give a flavour (no pun intended) of what the old-school Pockey ads were like, here is one from the 1980’s.
Now if you’ll excuse me.. I’m hungry so I’m going to get a bite to eat!
I love YouTube.
January 6th, 2007 at 2:20 pmThose are priceless for sure! But, can you really leave out the Pocky G commercial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iMlwG2xCVI) which may be the most thought-provoking of the bunch? And no collection could be complete without all those ones that Morning Musume were in? I think you may be getting ripped off for you Pocky here! I was surprised to see it in the “Chinese Food” department of A&P and it was like $2.70 or so. Unfortunately, they were a Christmas present so I have never yet experienced Pocky personally. But I did get a Hello Kitty calendar in return. Big deal–you can’t eat it…
January 6th, 2007 at 4:08 pmActually, Pocky. ^_^
In case you’re looking for this rare treat, please use the J-List link at left and see what we have in stock (using the link supports this great site, too).
Green Tea Pocky is great this year ^_^

January 6th, 2007 at 9:05 pmThe technical issues on this page have been fixed. Sorry about that!
January 7th, 2007 at 12:08 amAnd don’t forget, there’s a specific Pockey for girls, and one for boys.
My mother giggled when my male cousins bought the pink package . . .
