I think more of a “we didn’t accidentily shoot any civilians or our coalition buddies while on deployment” cute.

He’s been around for a while now. I remember getting a set of Prince Pickles stickers at some open day yonks ago (you don’t forget a name like “Prince Pickles”).

I do love the description of Japan’s military as “endearing”. Not something that historically it has often been called. But give them their due: they’ve been pretty cute for the last half-century or so….
