Earthquake hits Ishikawa

An earthquake has hit Ishikawa, Japan, where officials are saying that one person is dead and more than a hundred are injured. The earthquake measured a magnitude of 6.9 and hit at about 9:40am Sunday.

Agreed. But I haven’t seen one news report that states exactly how many injured there are. More then a hundred but since I don’t have an exact number, I thought several would be most appropriate.

Ishikawa is in central, not northern, Japan. Generally speaking, it’s part of Chubu. Fukui, Ishikawa and Toyama prefectures also make up the Hokuriku region, which is why some media are referring to this as a “Hokuriku quake”.
