If you think about the logistics of making this movie, it all seems rather mind boggling. Filmed in 24 countries, on large format 70mm film which can only capture 3 minutes of footage a time. The film has no actors and no spoken words.

And yet in my opinion, it’s one of the greatest films of all time. Ron Fricke, the co producer and director of this film shot quite a bit in Japan so that’s why I think its appropriate to post here. But really its about civilization as a whole and how cultures of the world have evolved and disintegrated.
