It’s become something of a trend in fashion: Stella McCartney does a collection for H&M, Proenza Schouler for Target and now Philip Lim and Alice Roi for Uniqlo.

Uniqlo’s construction, though, unlike other lower end retailers, is really pretty good. I’m still wearing my puffy coat after a year and a half (the only feathers I lost were when a spark at a matsuri in Yokote landed on my sleeve and melted the fabric), and the jeans, sweaters and shirts I bought show now sign of giving out any time soon.

The new Lim lines show up at Uniqlo New York this month.
