Gangster says sorry to Nation, not family of slain mayor

Kyodo News is reporting that Shiroo Tetsuya, the man who allegedly shot and killed the Nagasaki Mayor Ito Itcho, has apologies to the people of Nagasaki and the entire nation, but not the family.
“I caused trouble to the people of Nagasaki and the entire nation,” his lawyer said. “I was financially struggling…”

Well. Tetsuya’s stoopid. All he apparently had to do was *not* confess to the murder and the prosecutors and police would have botched the job, the judge would have become highly confused and Tetsuya would have been given a walk after a seven year trial.
Doesn’t *anyone* in the yakuza teach these minor underlings *anything* besides how to dress hideously?

That’s not a reason. That’s an excuse. If asked for the reason, the correct answer would of course be “I’m a worthless piece of scum who doesn’t value human life”.
I would think by now it is an Established Fact, that the Bill (overoften) use the villians as a de-facto police force..this is not Sun Hill - different paradigms apply..being Japan.
On this subject we are obviously in different area’s of the potting shed (so to speak).
