But where is the Prime Minister?

Japan’s former agriculture minister Yoshinobu Shimamura (Center) and other lawmakers visit Yasukuni shrine in Tokyo April 23, 2007. Interestingly, the Japanese Prime Minister has stuck to his word and has not visited the shrine, a place of contention for Korean and Chinese nationals.

May 9th, 2007 at 7:41 amnow I’m really starting to learn something of worth.

(if we could only drop the politics out of this subject).

May 9th, 2007 at 9:36 amthe other thing that strikes me as being odd is when they refer to the “spokeswoman for Yasukuni Shrine confirmed the gift….”.
Although I know little about the place and have never been there,it’s hard for me to associate a woman with such a militaristic-orientated-institution.
(Hope I’m not sounding M.C.P.-ish on that !!)
It just took me by surprise..that’s all.
