Kidnapped Chinese woman rescued from kidnapping and then arrested for visa violation.

This is one of those strange cases that came out of left field for me. I read about it and scratched my head in puzzlement. Ok here’s the story. A 37 year old Chinese woman working in a sex shop in Japan was kidnapped by a group of 4 to 5 men. The woman was apparently beaten and manhandled by the group.
She was released by the group only to be arrested for illegally living in Japan for the past five years. The Mainichi has additional details here.

Why are you being puzzled ?
The police is chasing the group of men who kidnapped the Chinese women.
If the police didn’t arrest the women it would violate Japanese law.
By the way, thank you for posting links info of your comment #41 on Comfort Women issue. That was very helpful.

But you need not scratch your head. Maybe the Chinese woman did.
As of your and Marie’s comments on Comfort Women issue. I wanted you both to battle towards end. And RTN’s comment #64 is very awful, however it would be possible. Perhaps the reality was not far from that. A picture RTN described reminds me of how the civilization of Maya, Inca or native American had been exterminated.
April 30th, 2007 at 10:25 amI can see the police arresting her for the obvious reason and perhaps for the less-obvious reason; she’ll bolt from the country even while the cops are trying to figure out who kidnapped her.
No witness - no case.
Anyway, she’s just probably done more illegal things than being a sex trade worker! The vigilent police have caught and shut down another gaijin crime syndicate! The statistics have been pumped up! ‘SEE? We *told* you so’s’ will soon be whined from the cat-butt mouths of small-minded people. Stay tuned… .
