Priceless: HK Slow Cooker

hello kitty crock pot slow cookerFinally! It’s pink (of course) and decorated with lovely little depictions of Hello Kitty and food. It will make cooking much easier, but according to CNET not because of the Hello Kitty elements — that’s just for the aesthetic touch.

Whether the added touch is “aesthetic” or not is up to you, but it must be said that this is a pretty ordinary crock pot otherwise.

In fact, the Hello Kitty Hell blog is pretty sure that there is nothing whatsoever aesthetic about Hello Kitty and their latest post (there’s a photo too) includes yet another example:

If you just get out of prison and your buddies give you a Hello Kitty vibrator as a welcome back gift, what do you do with it? You modify it into a prison style tattoo gun of course…

Nevertheless, time is money and the Hello Kitty slow cooker will help you save both while maintaining proper nutrition too! According to Darren Murph in Engadget:

Aiming to take the difficulty out of cooking and give even the culinarily-challenged a surefire way to concoct a solid round of soup, the HK slow cooker should handle your roasts, veggie soups, and chowders with ease, and what better to season such delicacies in than a pot full of cute? Giving your future meals the ability to simmer in cheerfulness is priceless indeed.

This disease has already spread to North America, so you can now get one from eBay’s Cute Fashion Shop. [EBT]

I am actually in the market for a new rice cooker. My old one is literally on its last legs. I have to say, this is tempting. But something tells me that the SO won’t really want a pink rice cooker!

WARNING MARIE! This is just a slow cooker–not a rice cooker! I BELIEVE there are Hello Kitty rice cookers (well–duh…) but maybe someone can say if you can can slow cook some rice. Probably. But those rice cookers are optimized to just do that. I have found that with one cup rice and 1.25 cups water I can make perfect rice in a pot with appropriate heat (boiling first then very low and don’t open it till done) and a bit of oil doesn’t hurt. Anything you add messes it up (garlic/onion) and paprika, etc. changes its color. But–a cheap rice cooker is just SO much easier. So that’s what I use. A Hello Kitty one would be better though–cuter rice! (But just the same and twice the cost…) However, a slow cooker should be able to do this–I do wonder if anyone has knowledge of this?

Ack! I’ve been warned! Thank you!
