I'm not sure who you are, but you are hypocrite!
how about Japanese people leaving hateful messages on the blog about honey lee?!if you want to talk about authentic Asian look and claim Riyo Mori has authentic Japanese look, why didn't japan pick someone who look more like NATIVE JAPANESE I BET RIYO MORI LOOKS NOTHING LIKE ONE. AND WEARING GUCCI DRESS IS REPRESENTING JAPAN? JAPANESE PEOPLE NEED TO STUDY HISTORY AND UNDERSTAND WHY OTHER ASIANS DON'T LIKE THEM. JAPANESE SLAVED AND TORTURED OTHER ASIANS AND DENIED IT. MY OWN GRANDMOTHER IS ONE OF THE VICTIM OF JAPANESE INVASION AND SHE LOST HER SISTER TO "COMFORT WOMEN" FOR JAPANESE SOLDIERS. JAPANESE PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THEIR ANCESTORS DID WAS AS BAD AS WHAT NAZI GERMAN DID.
Don't ask me about sushi, though. I no nothing about it since I don't like any seafood. My philosophy: don't eat anything that swims in its own toilet. Which means arterie-clogging foods are my friends and I'd probably starve in Japan.

Betty Woo: Thanks! This is what's great about the Internet. If I remember correctly, you're on the West Coast. And here I am receiving detailed recommendations on where I can go to sample local cuisine.

RYO. My God. You can't buy grocery store versions! Off with you to a good "casse-croûte" (snack bar) like LaFleur or, better yet, the Montreal Pool Room on lower St-Laurent or "La Binerie" on Mont-Royal near St-Denis for some authentic French-Canadian cuisine. I just found a great source in Vancouver for cheese curds. The heck with putting them on poutine, they're squeaky great on their own. A colleague of mine from St-Lambert just threatened me unless I bring him some... .

Betty Woo: Thanks for the culinary recommendations. I've tried the grocery store versions of tourtière and pâté chinois (Wikipedia outlines interesting theories as to the origins of this name - but unfortunately, not for the farting nuns). I get the sense that the local cuisine is not very arterially friendly.

If my memory is correct this "chonko" is quite famous in J-blog sphere and K-blog sphere as an avid Korean hater.

Several months ago, a poster with the same name was banned from marmot's hole.

And now he is posting the same post(word by word) at marmot's hole and Japundit.

chonko, did you ever think about the fact that there are many millions of Koreans, so the few sad individuals you have seen post a comment, represent .00000001 percent of them?. Most Koreans, indeed most PEOPLE, are not petty or small minded like that.
So what you are doing is noticing the few twisted individuals and letting that upset you. Try thinking instead about the millions of Koreans that buy Japanese cultural offerings, clothing, etc, visit Japan on holiday, have friends that are Japanese.
To even notice the ratbag few, is to pay them too much respect, what a person like that says, doesn't count for anything of importance. You certainly shouldn't respond in kind yourself.

It seems as though the Korean troll contigency is in full force hijacking the comments sections of all Miss Universe 2007 related videos. It’s quite interesting (but not surprising at all) that while even commenters from the 1st runner up nation, Brazil, will express that Miss Japan should not have won, even they will not stoop to the level of boorishness and low class as displayed by the Korean posters who swarm and hijack every video with comments laden with profanity, crude and utterly rude personal insults and distasteful comments directed to Miss Mori and Japan. Pretty much every single comment by Koreans and kyopos has the word “ugly bitch”, “fugly”, or “ugly jap whore” written in somewhere. How classy.

It’s kind of interesting because in their attempt to bad mouth Japan and gain support from the foreign audience, it seems as though all they have done is show how ugly and distasteful Korean culture can be as the other commenters have posted how disgusted and turned off they are by the trolling comments by the Koreans. It’s really comical how Koreans are their own worst enemy at times like this.

RYO - don't worry. I *am* a Quebecer and I've always refused to eat poutine. However, you really should give <em>tourtière</em> (meat pie) a try. And <em>pudding chômeur</em> (a cakey-pudding with some maple syrup sauce) as a dessert. Oh, geeze: steamies-all-dress (hot dog and bun both steamed, slaw and onions as a garnish), a greasy bag of frites, pâté chinois (basically, shepherd's pie), pets de soeurs (literally 'nuns' farts' but actually more like a cinnamon roll), oreilles-de-crisse (literally, 'Christ's ears' that are really crispy, deep-fried pork skin), maple syrup and, of course, bagels, smoked meat and Liberty brand cream cheese.

Great. Now I'm homesick.

Swinging this back on topic: I'm sure the new Miss Universe couldn't eat any of this without loosing her 'cute' figure... . OK. I *tried* to swing this back on topic.

I think there is a fairly accurate correlation between the quality and diversity of national costumes and the quality and diversity of national cuisines. When my wife and I had our first child in Ontario, there was a public health nurse's assistant who came over to provide assistance and advice on various matters related to baby care. She was from Jamaica and was trying to explain what Canadian food was and her example was pasta. I am also a recent newcomer to Quebec but I refuse to eat poutine. Does beef jerky count as Canadian?

There are the National Costumes of the Miss Universe pageant? http://www1.wireimage.com/GalleryListing.asp?navtyp=gls=1=13==274852&nbc1=1

Miss Canada was... hockey????!!!? Shania Twain's Maple Leafs glimmery shirt was better (but the Leafs still sux). The Miss America one was just as bad.

I can't figure out why the work filter picked up one of the pages. There really wasn't anything in it that was remotely offensive.

Ah, well. If the Government is telling me it's bad, it must be so for the Government is never wrong.

Betty Woo: Nice to know our tax dollars are being put to good use. (I don't know how web filters work but you would think that the URL alone might trigger a response of some sort in this case. Oh well....) In the meantime, I feel a strange urge to clear my cache and browsing history.

Betty Woo: "RYO, if you can provide an example URL, I can test this."

We're getting into heady (and quite off-topic) territory here, but I came across this site which might simultaneously satisfy your requests in #25 and #26 (potentially NSFW): http://www.gayglo.net/main.htm
