Hello Kitty is back in the news again in a big way with the the opening of a “Hello Kitty Selection” event at Mitsukoshi Department Store in Tokyo. The centerpiece of the even is an 8-million yen Hello Kitty doll made of 62,000 Swarovski crystals.
The Hello Kitty figure is modeled after a maneki neko, which seems to be beckoning only those with plenty of money to the Mitukoshi store.
