This is a good idea–using numbers greater than 24 to show times past midnight. Or maybe not. It’s not so hard to recognize that 0300 is a “wee” hour of the morning while 1500 is later on in the afternoon. And then there’s the problem of when to stop–under this extended number system you could have 32 o’clock, which is probably even more confusing than the original?

I’ve seen this a lot, and it does make sense for a limited addition of hours. But 28 is a pretty big one.
