Kamedas “defile boxing”
News reported this morning that the Japan Boxing Commission has banned Daiki Kameda for one year for “repeated unsportsmanlike conduct”, and hit Shiro Kameda, father and trainer of the Kameda family, with an indefinite ringside ban and training licence suspension.
For Kameda’s display in his defeat to Daisuke Naito in the WBC flyweight championship bout the other night, which included various low blows, gouging and an incredible wrestling lift-and-throw, JBC director Shinichi Saito said, “He defiled boxing and has lost the trust of fans.”
Saito also announced that the JBC will suspend Kyoei Gym Chairman Keiichiro Kanehira’s license as a boxing club owner for three months [...].
Kameda belongs to Kyoei Gym.
Kameda’s elder brother, Koki, 20, also received a strict warning for instructing his brother to use his elbow during the bout.
But it seems that not everyone is sick of the Kamedas. In a quick vox-pop on a TV morning show, a survey asked if people would want to watch future fights involving any of the Kamedas. 100% replied “Yes”.
I hope they get their butt beats bad! That was such atrocious unsportsmanship like conduct I’ve ever seen! What a waste of food feeding scum like that.
