Fido to the rescue!

Straight from the Security and Safety Trade Expo in Tokyo is this emergency outfit for dogs. Designed to be either for a dog or cat, the coat includes pockets that contain emergency goods and food.
Why food? You would think that there would be plenty of fresh meat lying around for the enterprising dog or cat to eat following an earthquake or other disaster. . .
Price 28,000 to 50,000 yen
Bit cruel, putting the food in pockets. How’s the dog going to open them? Especially a dachs, whose legs are too short even to reach the pockets…
October 18th, 2007 at 12:05 amOther than the stupid hood and the small size of the dog, I think ths isn’t all that bad an idea. The key is to tailor the load to the size of the animal

October 18th, 2007 at 2:54 amGreat. So the dog now dies of overheating after being stuck in a non-breathable flame-resistent material. At least if it also cooks the animal you know where your rations will be coming from for the next while (period to be determined by breed size).

October 18th, 2007 at 7:47 amOK… must type “guess that would make it a ‘hot dog’”.
Yes. Hell is where I’m headin’. I know that.

October 18th, 2007 at 9:23 pm[...] was a recent Expo, for Security and Safety firms. So, one of them decided that what Tokyo needs is fire-safety suits for those cute little miniture Daschunds that EVERYBODY in Japan seems to have. The fire-suit would also have a little emergency food supply [...]
