you may well ask what has Samuel Beckett got to do with Candy and Dear? well to be perfectly honest with you - Nothing!..but then what has Candy and Dear got to do with Japan? again nothing ..its just JP’s fill in post until something more wholesome & relevant comes along (like snack food)…until then I will explore the influence of Samuel Beckett and his much loved and driven deux-chevaux on Japan.

and as we all know, the Citroen 2cv was the first car owned by the famed animator Hayao Miyazaki,

..and appears in the flick (i think Castle of Cagliostro) is that a pun on Nausicaa/NoisyCar?

..to be continued after more research (Arden).

well, we know that Sam’s motor was Red, and circa 1963, which funnily enough was Miyazaki’s Deus Chevaux.

What a strange coincidence!.

Mon Dieu!, i think i’m getting close - the Endgame is nigh.

just pausing for a moment, while were on the subject of micro-cars, I was really stopped in my tracks, that is “hit-the-anchors”, when I first clapped eyes on this little oddity.

we were on our way up to Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji in January no less! - a hell of a time for sightseeing doncha-know? when all a sudden there it was, a black WillVi…broken down, driver waving frantically…well what could one do?…All-for-one-One-for-All..I must say I admired Shinji’s (the driver) Spirit..true Motoring Kintama…..?

*better get off this anecdote and back on the page*
