Scariest Japanese moves?? Do the bugaloo?
But ‘Ringu’on 1??? Ringu was good don’t get me wrong, but definitely not the scariest Japanese movies out there.
October 26th, 2007 at 10:14 pmThe Ring is probably not the scariest Japanese movie. Even so it was scary enough to let it make to the Ring 2 and the Ring 0 and Hollywood remake version. And the Ring ignited the J-Horror fad.
As for Ju-on, Chakushin Ari and Audition, they were at least once on the air on TV. But I was too scared to watch the scariest scenes of them. He he he…
October 26th, 2007 at 10:58 pmThe first time I saw Ring, it gave me cold chills (and it was the middle of summer with the a/c turned off). It sort of reminded me of the first time I saw Jaws as a child. Both experiences were unsettling at the time.
As TofuUnion mentioned, it ignited (or at least rejuvenated) this genre. Pretty impressive, I say. (And like Jaws, the sequels were nothing to write home about.)
