Tagata Fertility Festival

Here is a video about the Tagata Fertility Festival, also known as the Hounen Matsuri and the Penis Festival,m whicih takes place at Tagata Jinja which is near Komaki City…about 30 minutes north of Nagoya where I live. While there, I ran into another Japundit contributor, Samurai Dave.

Great video, thanks! It reminded me of the time I visited Ishite-Ji Temple in Matsuyama during a festival. The Japanese are serious about getting those rice cakes that they throw. It is like being in a mosh pit at a concert. Great stuff, thanks again!

April 16th, 2008 at 7:43 amin iwate pref, there’s tons of stone masons, and the one that was always closest to the road was the giant penis. i then heard about penis fest from MK at Dlisted, so i had to see it for myself. you can also get penis candy pops at rest areas in the mountains of Wakayama.

yeah i was there yesterday brushing elbows with obaasan’s, it was tons fun! and i almost died laughing when my 3-y.o. boy started sucking that penis-shape lollypop!
