“Police advertise to find owner of illegal gun”
“Illegal firearm rewards to be offered by J-cops”
People do this in liberal bubbles in the U.S. like Chicago and San Francisco, and unsavory groups like gangs aren’t the ones that usually show up to turn in their guns. It’s mostly histrionic gun-hating women and their whipped husbands that turn anything in. The whole thing is fueled by a hysterical attitude toward guns rather than any concern about crime, and it’s saddening that practically nobody in Japan questions it.
