Automart Japan Claims
We recently have had people posting in the comments section of the Japundit News Pages about an organization called Automart Japan.
Japundit has never done business with Automart Japan and so we are not in a position to comment either way. However, we are providing this space as a public service to those who have been posting notes on the news pages.
The whole thing started with the following post by member dmogwe.
Early in August this year while looking for a bargain of a used car I came across this site http://www.automartjapan.com. I then made enquiries regarding a particular vehicle that I was interested in and subsequently I was sent an invoice for US 2,300.00. the Name of this company was AUTO MART JAPAN and i was dealing with some people called Richard Bent and Suzuki Junko. subsequently i wired the funds on the 19th. August 2008 and some days later the website changed and these guys were silent. I have tried to get help from The Japanese Used Motor Vehicle Exporters Association without any success. The details of the bank where I wired the money are:
The bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFG Ltd.
Ueno Brach,
1-14-4 higashi Ueno, Taito Ku, Tokyo, 110-0015 , Japan
the account holder: Auto Mart Japan
Account Number: 5463066to date no one has helped me in getting to the bottom of this.
I got ripped off by the same con artist around the same time. Still waiting on Interpol and the japanese police. I want to link up with as many people as possible who have been defrauded by this scam artist. If anyone knows how to put up an Internet wanted poster on the perp, your advice will be greatly appreciated.
December 9th, 2008 at 12:00 amI was ripped off also by this company and the so call Richard Bent. The website was created by an Indian guy name Maharana Bananta and an Australian guy called Tim Worley who claims to know nothing about Richard Bent and says that he himself is owed money by Richard Bent for website development. The Richard Bent accent was definately broken Indian/English, not Japanese/English and i beleive it was this Indian basanta individual. I did see the automartjapan template on the Basanta guy website, which now does not exist, and a few days later it was removed. I checked the who is website http://whois.domaintools.com/automartjapan.com (please copy and past)
December 9th, 2008 at 12:01 amrecently and noticed that all the contact details of Tim Worley have been changed to a different name Frank Costanza of Austrailia. I believe that this Tim Worley is involved even more so now that he has changed the registrant and admin address from his to another. any other information you need or want to share, please contact me at sales@autobrokersltd.net.
autobroker - you are an idiot.
Tim(friend of mine) bought the said domain name on behalf of his client, never intending for it to be/stay in his own name. Do you really think he would have put it in his own name if he knew large fraud was going to be perpetrated? It beggars belief that you would think this.
Since Tim did not perpetrate the fraud, and did not beneficially own the domain name, of course he would did not wish to have the domain name stay registered in his name.
Whatever you lost, Tim has lost far, far more from this Richard Bent.
I think this guy has perpetrated this fraud many, many times.
The same guy contacted MY web development company at the time over 4 years ago with the same scam. Luckily we did not proceed with the development at the time. He might do it again.
All this guy needs is someone to open up a Japanese bank account for him, to get a phone number where he an take inquiries, then start selling his “cars”. When the shit hits the fan and people start complaining their car has not yet arrived…. he bilks, then sets up again somewhere.
I am sorry you got ripped off, but it was nothing to do with Tim.
December 10th, 2008 at 2:12 pmMy name is Tim, and I am the developer you speak of.
Let me put the record straight, once and for all.
Richard Bent contracted us to build a website and market it using google adwords for him. To date we are owed in the region of $10k usd in outstanding development fees and adwords expenses. No one wants this man caught more than me. Believe me on that. $10k usd is a lot of money to me.
Basanata is an outsourced html coder that I use to cut templates for websites. AMJ was in fact the first site we worked together on. To say that he is Richard Bent, because he is Indian, is outrageous. In case you didn’t know, there are about 1 billion people on the subcontinent, and many of whom work in IT.
He has nothing to do with the situation at hand so please don’t annoy him. He has no idea what you are talking about, and can not help you in any way.
I registered the domain on behalf of our client – the infamous Richard Bent. As a web developer, this kind of thing often happens. Not all clients know how to register domains, and so this, together with running adwords is a service that we provide for our clients.
Yes, the registrar names were changed as the “gentleman” from autobrokersltd (above post) threatened myself and my family. Of course, I went straight to the police, and all details of that correspondence is with them.
Threats of any nature are immediately dealt with in this manner. I am a professional, and consider myself of the highest professional integrity. I understand people are angry, so am I, but it seems that the Japanese Police didn’t want to have anything to do with the case, and palmed me off to our local federal police. Seems like it was in the too hard basket for them.
I have a trail of emails that will prove we had nothing to do with the money disappearing - the fact that people sent money to a Japanese bank account should tell you that. Surely this is where you should be looking for more answers. Call the bank in question and talk to them. Call the Japanese phone company and track down records of the numbers he used. To blame us is ridiculous. We are a bigger victim than most in this case.
I have even placed a warning and contact details of the Japanese police, and even how to ask for a police person who speaks english on the home page of the website.
I have left the site up with that message on there to try and help people to follow this through and hunt down this Richard Bent charlatan. Why would I do this if I was involved? What more can I do?
Personally, I have let go of it all and got on with my life. I no longer wanted to bang my head against a brick wall and lose sleep over something I could not control. I refuse to spend any more time or energy on something that I just don;t see as being resolved. But that’s just me.
Please, feel free to look for this person - go hard in fact. Then, let me know when you find him, cause I want my money too.
If anyone has information on the Richard Bent character, please post it here so that we all may try and recoup our losses.
Good luck to you all, Tim
December 10th, 2008 at 2:17 pmTim,
If you want to prove to everyone that’s giving you hell that you’re not a liar, and you’ve got nothing to hide, and not involved with the Auto Mart Japan con and your not that wanker, Richard Bent, you should give the names of the police officers and women police officeresses, their contact numbers, brick and mortar addresses of the police stations, email addresses, you said you gave your statements to in Japan and Australia, contact Interpol and post it on your website so that all those who have been ripped off by that disgusting blighter, Bent, could contact them!
I don’t understand how Bent could be on the lam for so long. FoT (Friend of Tim) nippi9 said you (Tim) bought the domain name on behalf of your client, Bent, so you must have a contract, payment, bank statement, documents with Richard Bent’s name on it! Just post the info on your website, give it to the people he has fleeced and hand it over to the police and Interpol and call that George! I don’t understand for the life of me why you would use a name like Frank Costanza on your domain, though. Are you a film buff? The domain name was only created in May 2008, so you can’t be a total knobhead and be taken in by a total stranger like Bent, there must be proof and evidence of his existence. Post a sample email with his address from Bent on your AMJ website and a list of all the people Bent has conned so they can contact the police you called. Crikey!
December 20th, 2008 at 1:50 amME TO GOT RIPPED OFF FROM THE S**T HEAD. I NEED INFO FROM THE WEB DESIGNER BECAUSE THEY 2 WERE DOING BUSINESS TOGETHER. THEY MUST HAVE MORE INFO SO PLEASE LET IT OUT
January 31st, 2009 at 4:48 amRe: Tim Worley Weblife Webko Auto Mart Japan Con Scam Fraud Rip-off Byron Bay, NSW Australia.
What’s the matter, Tim and nippi9, cat got your tongues? No sarky twit smart aleck comebacks? I was waiting for you two wiseguy jokers to respond to the Scarlet Pumpernickel’s revelations. Are you afraid with every word you write you might contradict and incriminate yourselves even more? I don’t have to be a prosecutor to ask common-sense questions like these e.g. nippi9: if your riding partner Tim Worley did not beneficially own the domain name, why wasn’t it registered originally under Richard Bent’s name in the first place? If you thought that Richard Bent has perpetrated this fraud many, many times and you knew Bent was the same guy who contacted YOUR web development company, Webko, at the time over 4 years ago with the same scam, why didn’t you inform your good friend, Tim Worley, as you both share the same address at 5/6 Tasman Way Arts and Industry Estate Byron Bay, NSW Post code 2481 Australia? This should be good. Try and wiggle your way out of that!
Tim, for somebody who claims to be owed over US $10K by Bent, your actions are rather strange. Somebody steals US $10K from you and you “let him go to the universe?” Are you some kind of leftover from the hippie era? You can do more if you really want to catch Bent, by following the recommendations of the Scarlet Pumpernickel: put the names, emails and numbers of the police officers you claimed you called on your site. I gave you Interpol’s numbers to contact in my country and you gave some BullS**T about only contacting the police when requested, “I have a feeling that if more is required, it needs to come as a request from the authorities.”
February 5th, 2009 at 5:14 amJacobs, when nippi9, Tim Worley and Basanta Moharana are bounced around and sentenced to do hard time and labour in our respective countries, we are also pressing for them to get strokes also. They are already on Interpol and the FBI’s rogues’ gallery data bases. Gaijin or no gaijin, they deserve strokes for the aggro. In my country, criminals convicted for serious offences are whipped with the cat ‘o nine. What do you flay criminals with in your country?
February 5th, 2009 at 5:25 amAddendum: Richard Mclachlan Webko Tim Worley Weblife Auto Mart Japan Con Scam Fraud Rip-off Byron Bay, NSW Australia.
By Jove, Watson! I think I may have solved the case of the Invisible Con Man Richard Bent! Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable must be the truth. Let us take another look at the name Richard Bent, shall we lads? After using the modern crime fighting tool, Google, I discovered that Nippi9’s real name is Richard Mclachlan, the owner of Webko. Could the scoundrel Richard Bent be a composite of Richard (Mclachlan) Basanta Moharanta and Tim Worley’s names? RICHARD B-E-N-T. Oh Tim, old boy, your Auto Mart Japan con site is down. Are you working on it?
February 6th, 2009 at 12:48 amJolly good show wot?
Warning: Basanta Moharana Bhubaneswar India Tim Worley Weblife Auto Mart Japan Con Scam Fraud Rip-off Byron Bay, NSW Australia.
Tim, we don’t have a beef with the 1 billion people in India, just the IT virgin nerd con artist, Basanta Moharana from Bhubaneswar India who helped develop the Auto Mart Japan scam along with you. You can tell me why Basanta pretends to write like a retarded moron and makes deliberate mistakes only an educated person would make, when you ask him about the Auto Mart Japan car scam as he writes perfect English on his website http://basantamoharana.wordpress.com/ ?
February 7th, 2009 at 5:18 amWhy would the both of you remove Auto Mart Japan from your resumes? Look at the time frame between July-October 2008, Basanta attended all those IT nerd fest parties, seminars and conventions with his fellow nerds throughout India on his website with the money from his cut from the Auto Mart Japan car scam. I’m sure Basanta will find a girlfriend in prison or become one.
Tim, you sure are a professional. A professional con man!
February 7th, 2009 at 5:31 amAll the “helpful information” Worley put up on his Auto Mart Japan con site, which is now down, is a number purporting to be the Japanese Metropolitan police no. 81335814321, but no names of officers he claimed he contacted and a phrase to use to speak to a policeman who speaks English “eigo ga dekiru keisatsu kudasai.”
Can anyone in Japundit who speaks Japanese and living in Japan confirm that number and would a Japanese speaker use that sentence construction?
February 8th, 2009 at 1:11 amI am not involved in this case in any capacity, but to answer your questions.
1. 81 is the country code of Japan.
2. 03-3581-4321 is the telephone number of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
3. “eigo ga dekiru keisatsu kudasai” is one way you can use in Japanese to ask for an English-speaking police officer.
February 8th, 2009 at 2:09 amInfo: Basanta Moharana Wordpress Bhubaneswar India Tim Worley Weblife Auto Mart Japan Con Scam Fraud Rip-off
A thousand thanks to Mr. Chmura for supplying Japanese translation to query.
Please notice two writing samples emanating from suspect Basanta Moharana from Wordpress. In first email Basanta guy pretend to write like stupid man of South Asia make deliberate mistakes only man of learning make.
“What hapen, I Dont know and not understanding any thing, because I don’t know anything about the scam and automart. I am only the HTML coder of Tim Worly. Please left me from that.”
Second sample come from nerd IT boy website who write perfect English better than humble detective.
“I believe in effective and sound communication and thus, never miss out on the quality of graphic designing. The motto of every business is increased sales either in products or services and dynamic designs with suitable and selective colors do speak out your presence in the corporate sector, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.”
February 8th, 2009 at 3:58 amWanted: Basanta Moharana Wordpress Conman Tim Worley Weblife Auto Mart Japan Con Scam Fraud Rip-off
While on the blood hunt, we have discovered that the real reason con artist Tim Worley changed registrar names for Auto Mart Japan from his own was because of the pressure from scam hunter Autobroker, who unearthed him like a scorpius hiding in the sand. Basanta and Tim Worley are destined to be laser bolaed.
February 10th, 2009 at 12:43 amHI all,
This is Basanta, Sorry to tell you I am not comfortable in English. In my website these contents are copied from other site for Knowledge share. I am a poor guy doing job in a small company as a web designer. I got this URL http://blog.japundit.com/archives/2008/12/08/9148/ from Tim Worley. I don’t know about this scam and I have not any information about this scam. I am only the HTML coder of that website given by Tim worley. If you ask Tim Hi can give you information regarding this. when I got a lot of email then I deleted the template from my blog nothing else. I am a poor guy and don’t want to involve in that case. Hi,
I am Priyantha Nakandalage from Daiei International Co.,ltd -Japan.
My web site URL also bit simillar to this
( http://www.japaneseautomart.com )
As a vehicle exporter I am also shamed by thi incident.
Tim Worley ( web designer for this Auto Mart Japan) Please answer following questions and as a technical person you can answer I am sure.
1) You can check the IP address of your client ( through emails he send)
From the IP address japanese police can locate the place
in japan they done the dealings
2)Please inform the date/ bank name/ branch name / sender name
if you got any funds ( I am sure you will not do any work without a deposit to a unknown person )
Japanese police can trace them then
You should go to the Embassy in japan in Australia and make a official complain
February 11th, 2009 at 7:42 pmBasanta, but you and Tim Worley are fluent in con-glish right?
February 11th, 2009 at 10:22 pmNipp9– I hope you have 9 lives for the unleashing of Indiras Thunderbolt. You, Bassanta and Worley have your fingerprints all over automartjapan and Richard bent. PS: i have added my plane ticket cost to Australiar to the already US3700 + US2000 for replacing my customers car and now US2000 for the plane ticket. Total US7700.00. I have not included the ticket to India cause my P.I is still confirming Basanta’s family. The three of you can run but you cant hide from the cracking of thunder at the dead of night. Enough time has passed fellas, its time to pay now. Tim, this your my final request to hand over bank records, IP addresses and emails you said you received from Bent, i need this deposit information you received from Bent. The clock is ticking. tick tick tick tick tick!!!!!!!!!!
February 12th, 2009 at 12:51 amHi Priyantha!
February 12th, 2009 at 12:15 pmGood luck if you get Tim Worley to answer your questions! When me and my pals Larry and Moe asked that wiseguy Tim Worley for information and documents on Richard Bent, we got this slap-stick comedy routine from him. Slick Tim tells us that he has to look for them, he’ll check his desk, and when he finds them, he’ll let us know!Boy, I wish I could belt him in the schnozzle and kick him in the nuts!
Another line of Teflon Tim (nothing sticks to him)is he ‘honestly’ must have thrown them away along with the police contact nos.,bank statements and receipts of Richard Bent, the slime ball he sez owes him ten thousand bucks and let him go to da universe! Hmmm! And they call the three of us comedians nyuk nyuk nyuk!
Sherlock Holmes
You are aware that Webko Pty Ltd is a historical web development company that no longer trades? I retired from the web development business, before Weblife existed. But thanks for verifying that yes, I did use to work for web development company as I have claimed to, and that no, I have nothing to do with Weblife.
Pakchat Chogarm
We didn’t proceed with project because we didn’t get it. Perhaps some other company did - how could I possibly know? I don’t even know if he proceeded with it - only interaction with him was a couple of phone calls, I don’t recall if we even got a business name at the time.
Autobroker
Everything possible, has already been provided to the Police in Japan, Australia and Interpol. The police are not looking at Tim as a suspect, or me. By all means contact the Police anywhere and tell them what has happened and send them to the Weblife office.
Let me get this straight. You think Tim took the money, for hundreds of cars, and did so whilst operating a bricks and mortar business where anyone can come and find him? You think this is more plausible than him being paid to set up a website and getting ripped off and conned himself?
By all means contact the Australia, US, Japanese Police, and Interpol. INSIST they take the matter on that you are sick of getting the run around. The guy who has conned everyone, is relying on it being put in the too hard basket by each country’s police. INSIST the police investigate and come and interview Tim, have a look at his records etc,
Should the police contact Tim, I will also provide statements if they want them.
So stop playing with your clock and going on about the thunder coming out of your crack.
I appreciate you are carefully wording your threats so they are difficult to legally prove. Do note Australian Customs only require evidence of someone being unfit to enter the country to refuse them entry.
February 12th, 2009 at 12:19 pmHi Priyantha.
The emails you refer to go back 8 months or so, and as such we can not trace them back (at least not that I am aware of).
Anyone of authority II have spoken to simply does not want to talk about it.
I have already been to the Japanese embassy in Australia and they too passed the buck.
I have already passed on all details, including bank accounts to Charles, aka Kong Soo, aka the scarlet pimpernel, aka etc…etc…. And yet he continues to slander my name here.
Tokyo police palmed me off, as did local police.
There is not much more I can do - even Interpol did not return my enquiry with them.
AMJ website is back up (we recently migrated servers and was unaware it was down).
Autobroker - again, remember you have been reported to the australian police authorities. You can ask Charles Kong Soo for the records I forwarded to him. Otherwise, email me directly and I will send them to you too.

February 12th, 2009 at 2:11 pmDear Tim,
**It s hard to beleive you erased the emails he send
as you also a creditor.
**Anyhow you must have funds receiving bank documents for any money you received ( or did you do a free website and $10000 free google ppc)
You also have to be responsible for this kind of things.
I know a Kenyan lady nearly in divorce with her rhusband because of this matter
PLEASE HELP THE POOR INNOCENT PEOPLE
February 12th, 2009 at 3:20 pmOh shit, I forgot to say…
Its YOU that are staying up all nite.
We are in Australia.
Its daytime.
Your nitetime.
I bet you were a Bush supporter.
February 12th, 2009 at 3:22 pmHi Priyantha!
February 12th, 2009 at 9:36 pmWhat did I tell you about Tim Worley? I shoulda sez good luck if you get Tim Worley to give you straight answers!nyuk nyuk nyuk!
nippi9 old boy,
February 12th, 2009 at 9:50 pmI did not hear you DENY that the Richard in Richard Bent is your contribution, or come up with it was just pure coincidence. If you had foreknowledge of Bent you still did not inform your good pal Tim Worley. Good show wot!
Not at all Tim. I have several buyers for this Auto Mart Japan scam story. The longer it drags on the better the paycheck. I’ve met friends driven by dharma/ right action and righteous indignation united to bust the scammers behind Auto Mart Japan and to help the poor people receive their adequate compensation ten fold.
February 12th, 2009 at 10:21 pmBesides, I just got the book The Art of War by Sun Tzu and acid testing and applying some of the principles on military treatise to see if they’ll work against cons. Book say: “drive enemy crazy by using unorthodox methods and tactics and attack when least expected.”
Greetings gentlemen, Perry Mason, attorney-at-law here. Priyantha, your Kenyan friend can have her attorneys file a class-action law-suit against the culprits behind Auto Mart Japan scam and sue for punitive damages.
February 13th, 2009 at 12:26 amTim, Perry Mason, here, Charles’ co. attorney. In layman’s terms slander is a false report uttered against someone’s character. My client has not uttered one false statement about your conduct and actions that you did or did not do concerning this case, which may be clashing with the veneer and image you want to portray of yourself as a respectable and honest businessman.
February 13th, 2009 at 12:46 amTim, I don’t recall you giving anybody any records with your business transactions with Richard Bent. I must have tossed them in the same dustbin you threw the police contact nos. and Bent’s records. Why don’t you post them here on this forum to show everyone that you’re genuine and you’re not sending useless junk? You can start with some of the almost 200 emails you have from Bent. At least one with his return email?
February 13th, 2009 at 1:04 amIf con happen on Japanese soil, criminals must be punish in Japan! If Japan go back to simpler time, feudal time, boil criminals alive in iron cauldron like king bandit Ishikawa Goemon.
February 13th, 2009 at 4:31 amYou know what……. I’m over this. II suggest you get over it too, ofr go and find the Richard bent guy. II am not going to waste any more of my time here on this forum.
Charles, it is clear that you have a screw loose. You know damn well II have emailed you the relevant info.
Prinyantha, the emails have not been deleted. Neither have the threatening emails from Charles or Autobroker guy been deleted. Our local police also have a copy of them too. Autobroker guy is only shitty that I would not build and market him a new website.
For the last time, there is an open invitation for any authority to contact us. We have tried contacting every authority we can think of, and no-one one wants to do anything to help us. Perhaps someone over there in Japan can help by taking this forward to the Tokyo police. They palmed me off, but maybe if it is coming from within japan it will help.
And by the way Charles, no one is fooled by you posting numerous times under fake names. It is clear that you have nothing better to do. Slander is indeed what you are doing, and it is all duly noted.
Everything we can say now has been said.
Now, if you don’t mind, I am going to get on with my life. I suggest you all do the same. I wish everyone all the best in your ventures.
T
February 13th, 2009 at 7:53 amoh.. And BTW - surely the japanese police could START by looking into the bank account and mobile number used and referred to in the first post of this email… or is that too difficult?
Or has no-one one even bothered to contact the Tokyo police themselves?
February 13th, 2009 at 7:57 amUm, for the record. I am not Richard Bent. Whew, good to come clean on that.
I am also out of here, its a waste of time. You need to focus your energies on the police, they are the only ones with the resources and power to investigate. No-one else is going to be able to do international transaction and phone record tracing.
stop being a prat. OK, you got ripped of and wanted to have a little public cry about it. boo hoo hoo Are we done yet?
I would be contacting the US ambassador in Japan and getting some pressure put on their local police force. The guy traded from japan, and had a Japanese bank account so that the most likely place where the jurisdiction has some chance of lying.
February 13th, 2009 at 8:20 amNippi9, you should get out more and expand your horizons beyond those old entertainers’ names you like to use. To paraphrase William Shatner, “Get a life!” FYI I am not Han Solo from Star Wars, I am Han from Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon! Where are you and Tim going? You are scheduled in today’s tournament. Would you be good enough to participate in this morning’s edification?
February 13th, 2009 at 10:37 pmFunny thing you should mention Bush, nippi9 because you sound like the Aussie equivalent of what we call a redneck or bigot, or most likely to wear white sheets and burn crosses and people.
I was happy Obama won the elections, I believe that some of Bush’s Doctrine should be kept however e.g. keeping Guantanamo Prison open to throw the Auto Mart Japan con men in.
Tim only action say he cooperate with you, he on your side, he your friend, he helping you catch Bent, but when you ask for information, only get cock and bull story and plenty boosh**t!More like frenemy lah!
February 13th, 2009 at 11:16 pmTim nippi9 where you go? Battle of epic proportions about to begin. Do not run from battle-field like geisha or girly man. Take arrows in front of helmet not in back running away.
I forget say golden age in Japan when samurai have wonderful time allow use condemn criminals for sword testing and target practice.
February 13th, 2009 at 11:29 pm‘Allo ‘Allo Tim! Are you ciertain you ‘ave zee right Charles? Zere are many Charles in zee world!
Hey Tim, nippi9, wassamadda guys? Is it my breath or my deodorant? We French don’t use deodorant! Where are youse going? I haven’t finished reading Sun Tzu’s The Art of War yet. I need youse guys to test it out on!
Well, Tim, Shakespeare did say “Though this be madness_ yet there is method in’t.” I don’t understand, Tim, you don’t like my tactics, but I’m just mirroring what people who have been scammed by “Bent” encounter from you when they ask you for information.
Art of War Book say: “If your opponent is of choleric temperament, seek to irritate him.” Book also say: “Feint and draw out enemy, toy with them if like, deliver coup de grace; mow down enemy like grass with kwan dao when feel like it. Can anyone in Japundit whose studying Chinese asymmetrical warfare tell me what a kwan dao is?
Don’t you want to get your USD $10K from Bent? I’m afraid Tim, that it is Autobroker and I who have been slandered by you. What is one more charge to add to the list when Interpol eventually moves into the action phase, right?
You’ll sound more convincing to Prinyantha and the other people in this forum by posting those phantom emails here. I would be very interested in seeing those threatening emails purporting to come from yours truly and Autobroker. You can also post them here for our edification, as Han said.
And throw in the local police names and numbers too so that we can verify if you really contacted them. You can show your sincerity by calling Interpol in my country. Can you give the reason for not doing so on this forum?
Even though you have tried our patience with your Sargeant Shultz routine of not knowing anything, Autobroker and I have conducted ourselves in a civil manner and with decorum in the face of all the interminable stalling tactics by you, while I have injected humour into it when Book say harass and confuse enemy.
I can state that Autobroker is a solid, genuine businessman and his reputation is bona fide, unlike some people’s own that must be in tatters by now. I also find it hard to believe that Autobroker wants to break your nuts/cajones because you would not want to build and market him a new website. You live half-way around the world from him. It doesn’t make economic sense for him to hire you, he would more likely use a local web developer in his country.
I know you will be monitoring this website, so, Book say: “To a surrounded enemy, you must leave a way of escape” i.e. offer enemy win-win situation he can’t refuse. Confucius say: “When you have them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow.”
Contact Bent and tell him all the people he has conned will be appeased by offering them two vehicles each for the aggravation, and he will be left alone to wander freely and not hunted down like an orc.
Failure to accept generous terms and conditions will result in prosecution, conviction with hard labour and corporal punishment, in addition to the lawsuits plus monetary equivalent of at least two vehicles each to the aggrieved still imposed by the judge. You will find Bent this time when you open your third eye.
N.B.: The Auto Mart Japan site now is a skeletal, backward step with no modifications or additional information that would be significantly helpful to anyone who wants to track down Bent.
February 14th, 2009 at 2:21 amTo paraphrase Basanta: Wah? Wah do I you? What hapen, I Dont know and not understanding any thing, because I don’t know anything about the scam and automart. I am only poor guy get con from Bent. Please left me from that. I sure gaijin Bent no like third world jail though.

February 14th, 2009 at 2:46 amHi All,
I am living in Japan for 22 years and studied Business law in a Japanese university.
I am running a car Export company http://www.japaneseautomart.com
This Company cheated people ( Auto Mart Japan) seem to be not a registered company under Japanese law as you cannot see there name as Co.,Ltd or Corporation.
I wonder why the Japanese police take so much time to arrest people involved in this scam.
They can easily trace the people behind from following
things.
** Anyone want to start a bank account in Japan have to produce Japanese ID card, Passport or alian registration card. If Japanese police visit the bank and trace the original documents they can trace who started the bank account for Auto Mart Japan.
From that they can try to trace the people behind.
** Japanese banks have camera system so they can easily find the photos of the people involved.
February 14th, 2009 at 10:52 pmTim : Please publish these things
1) Senders name of the deposit to make the website
& the name & Branch of the the Japanese bank that send money
( Your bank in australia should know the details)
2) The email address used by this man before you made the Domain for auto mart japan
3) all telephone numbers you knows of these people & auto mart japan
February 14th, 2009 at 10:59 pmPerhaps Tim never made a report to the Japanese police in the first place?
I sent a letter addressed to:
President Katsunori Nagayasu,
C/o The Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd,
2-7-1 Marunouchi,
Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo,Japan
in January and received a reply from the PR of the Bank, a Mr. Kondo. He said I should write to the Ueno bank branch and request the information on who emptied that Auto Mart Japan account and whose names it was registered under. I told him that Interpol in my country told me that they are working on it and would communicate with the Japanese police.
It might go faster if everyone who got conned would write two letters each, one to the president of the bank and the second to the bank branch to let them be aware of how many people have been scammed. What do you think? How can we improve on this?
Can anyone on the ground in Japan furnish us with a senior manager of that bank branch who can speak English or an E-mail?
February 15th, 2009 at 3:27 amTim: Please not take too long posting evidence of documents, phantom emails and threatening emails, might give impression you working overtime manufacturing them like in Chinese sweatshop. Please to include original emails with headers and addresses with chop for mark of authenticity, yes? No cut and paste alright? Might look too fishy stand out of place like in vegetarian restaurant.
Most grateful,

Can we interest the Japanese newspapers and/or English newspapers in Japan in this Auto Mart Japan con story to give them some more exposure? A lot of research went into that scam. It was no coincidence that they chose that name to reflect your company’s own, Priyantha.
We can pitch it as The Aussie Answer To Nigerian Scams.
February 15th, 2009 at 6:39 amHi all! I am General Douglas MacArthur of Battle of Midway fame.
That is very valuable intel Priyantha. Japan and Australia are to be the anvil we hope to hammer the Auto Mart Japan con men into submission.
What the Auto Mart Japan con men don’t like is exposure. I recommend that the people who have been conned add their voices and inform the American task forces that are already painting the criminal organization @ http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/weblife-c155275.html and
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/415/RipOff0415263.htm
Tim: You’d like nothing better than for us to move on and leave Bent to the universe like you, wouldn’t you? I will stop my anti-con carrier task force from pummeling Auto Mart Japan’s camouflaged façade and base of operations in Australia and will move on as soon as restitutions are made to all the innocent people who have been conned, or when all the criminals behind Auto Mart Japan are in jail, your choice.
February 16th, 2009 at 8:43 amCharles, you a f*&^%ng idiot. You know II have emailed you the relevant documents. All this info was sent to you in december,December, and you know damn well this is the case.
Re the local Byron Bay police - ring them yourself and ask them there (+612 6685 9499). I had 2 constables out to the office to discuss the issue with Richard Bent and also the threatening emails from the guy at autosales. As I said numerous times, I have let go of it all, and probably just threw the card in the bin at the end of the day.
For everyone else, this is all the info I have. I hope it helps.

Enquiry: I have selected you as number one to be approached for making our website. we are in japan. we do car exports business. it seems that without web presence, we are losing a lot of business. long time ago, there were only wholesale importers and they were buying in bulk. now with increase in computers and internet, people import their cars directly so we need web presence. our company is Auto Mart Co Ltd so please check availability of http://www.automart.com or http://www.automart.net or if you suggest something else. we want website address and email address. our website should contain following pages. 1 who we are 2 what we do 3 how we can do it 4 what our clients say 5 how to contact us 6 our stock we can change the above headings if they are too long, basically this is what we want and the first 5 pages are fixed, they will not change. last 6th page which is our stock, for this we want content management page. we should be able to add cars, delete cars, modify cars ourself. the page of our stock, when it is clicked, it should give a long list of cars which can be seen by scrolling down the page. click here for details should be there with each car information. when click here is clicked, another window opens while the first page is still there. this window gives complete details of the car and 6 picture minimum. one of the picture is large. when clicked other pictures, they should become large. if customer likes to enquire about the car, he should click on CLICK HERE TO SEND ENQUIRY. and a window opens that asks client to write his name, phone number, country name, desired port name and comments. but and once he sends enquiry by clicking send, he should still be there on the stock list page to browse more vehicles. your work is great, please make a simple but attractive logo for our car business that makes sense. and the only thing what worries us is the cost. if you are cost effective and can make site quickly, we are ready to take start even on coming Monday. urgent reply is expected simons

Dear Tim
Nice talking to you and the delay that occured in contacting you, I sincerely apologise for that.
Our website should have 5 pages or 6.
1. about us
2. what we do
3. contact us
4. testimonials
5. why deal with us
6. stock list
the first 5 pages are fixed with no change of information on them.
for the sixth page, we need content management. this will be the stock list page.
we should be able to add, delete or modify the vehicle when we buy a new car, or sell one or negotiating with customers and want to hold the car.
when customer clicks on the stock list page, he sees a page with our stock. in a scroll down pattern. one car small picture and its short details but must have a stock number.
when customer clicks on the picture, he goes to other page where there are 6 or 7 pictures of the car with more details. if the details are in a box form, they look better. we will send you info about it later. out of these 6 or 7 pictures of the same car, one picture is large, others are small. when customer clicks on small pictures, the picture grows larger
there is a place there on this page asking fill the following to send enquiry.
it asks customer to write his name, country, port name, email address and short comment. and then click to send enquiry. when the send is clicked, it should say thank you for your enquiry, we will contact you in 24 hours. but he should remain on the stock list page so that he can browse other vehicles if he wants.
on the first stock list page, the car stock number should be there, when he goes to second page the stock number is mentioned there too, and when he sends enquiry about a particular vehicle, the stock number appears automatically.
for these resizing of the pictures, please make sure that we dont have to resize the picture but after we load it, it should be done automatically.
for the email box, I personally like the squirrelmail. please inform if you can do this for us.
I want a simple, attractive and fast loading website. we will keep approximately 120 vehicles in stock. so the first page if scroll down pattern, 120 vehicles are too much, so you can change them into 10 or 15 or 20 vehicles per page and make more pages.
please visit the site http://www.prestigecarfinders.com.au
I like the colours of this website because one’s eyes dont get tired, they are so nice. I dont insist on these colours but I love them, dont know if you can make such colours.
second website is http://www.japaneseusedcarsale.com
I like this site but its alphabet size is too small. if you can make little larger. I like their stock list page style, but when you go to next page to see more pictures, they have automatic moving pictures, changing from one to the other. there is no need to make it like that. only when customer wants to see other pictures, he clicks on small pictures below and the above picture changes.
please give cost and as soon as you can finish the website would be a great favour. by 30 june, but if you can do it around 20th june, that would be great because we need time to upload pictures as well.
the content management should be very easy. we click to go to content management page, it asks us 3 things. want to add new car, modify car or delete car. we click which we want and it asks us to fill in the blanks, then it asks us to click to add images. the car is loaded to the site. very simple method please.
please send the cost and also send us following information required for remittance.
bank name. this should be complete name of bank.
branch name. please mention branch name.
swift code. this is bank swift code. there are so many codes so if you do not know, please contact your bank and they will tell you. mistake cause delays.
branch code. if you have bank branch code number. please provide.
city where the branch is.
your name in which the account is.
I will make this remittance quickly today. please inform how much should be paid now.
thank you
Mark (or my partner simons will contact you)
— last contact from him
The last I heard from him was on the 29/8.
That email comprised the following:
“Dear Tim
Yes it was me who deleted the cars, they are all sold out.
I have been chosen as a dealer by BMW and we are now changing our website contents all to only bmw cars, new and used.
after deletion of cars, I got very busy and could not send you email.
can you please stop adwords google.
I have been trying for this dealership for past 3 and half years. we are so lucky we finally got it.
we have to make a whole new website, infact they have their own designers but I have convinced them that I will seek your help in this regard and it is officially approved by them.
for time being please delete the whole stock even from sold out. except 7, we sold all vehicles and these 7 are going to auction for sale next week.
I have to focus on many things.
There is no need for announcement because one of my friend wants a website and I need your help. shall we give this website to him and make the new one for us? I think that would be better.
He is asking for ownership rights for this site, I dont know if this is possible.
For new website for us, I will send you contents today.
Thank you
Mark“
***** After this email, I have received no contact at all. I did not believe at first that he had run away , because the contents of the email were left so open ended. I took a while for me to admit to myself that we were stung by him.
As you can see, he called himself Mark also.
The two payments I received for invoices for work done by us were from a bank account in Japan (I assume) and the only details I see in my bank account say “SWIFT CREDIT-DUSAN KOCMU “. The police would need to speak to my bank directly to get more info from them if they have it.
Oh, and also, the original emails I received from him were from his supposed “friends” email address which was by the name of Simon Paul from Sapporocars@gmail.com.
**** So there you have it, all the info I really have on him.

February 16th, 2009 at 2:05 pmHaving now seen that Charles Kong Soo of Trinidad is trying to blacken Tim’s name further on other sites, I feel the need to weigh in again.
Charles.
I am Jewish, some of my family are polish, yet I am married to a black, German. I live in Byron Bay, the centre of the anti redneck world.
Your accusation could not be more wrong as are all your accusations.
I am sorry you lost your money, but if spent half the amount of time putting pressure on the Japanese police to follow this up, you’d be so much further down the track to catching the real crook.
You are such a fool to spend all this effort chasing the wrong person because they are an easy target, not hiding, because they did nothing wrong.
February 16th, 2009 at 3:44 pmIt appears as if just about everything that needs to be said on this topic has been said here, so we are closing comments on this topic.
