Instructive in this announcement is the childishness with which dating, male-female relationships, marriage, and pregnancy is treated in Japan.
Here is a video of Leah’s announcement at a recent concert. Note the screams of shock and disbelief that a young 22-year-old woman would do such things. At the end of her announcement, Dizon says she will take some time off to have the baby, after which she plans to start performing again. She ends with a plea to her fans not to “toss her aside.”
With attitudes like this, it is no surprise that young people in Japan are shying away from marriage and that the population of the country is declining.
27-year-old Japanese ex-porn (AV) actress Nao Oikawa (she retired from boinking in front of cameras in 2004) seems to have completed the move from blue movies to mainstream pop idol via a girl group named G3 Princess, which also includes Yumi Sugimoto and Rina Aizawa. Ms. Oikawa is the one on the right in the following video.

Events includes five two-handed squeezes of the breasts or buttocks of adult video (AV) actresses for 1,000 yen, as well as servings of food reported flavored using the precious bodily fluids of an AV actress.
Last year a similar Paradise TV event (for which an AV actress demonstrated her handicraft for 3,000 yen) raised some 2 million yen.

Outraged cairns.com.au reader Mark sent a photograph of the van to us after his Japanese wife spotted it parked in their Bayview Heights street while driving their eight-year-old daughter to school.
“It’s terrible. If you walked around in a T-shirt with that written on it in English, you would be arrested,” he said.
His said he and his wife had tried to stop their daughter, who can read Japanese, from seeing the van, which was parked in the street for several days before leaving overnight.
Koreans will not be seeing any Japanese condoms as they slip into the tube each morning now that Seoul Metro has decided to pull prophylactic posters for Okamoto condoms from its subway carriages.
The ads, 54 by 39 centimeters, were placed next to the train doors – one of the most eye-catching spots. They did not have a picture related to a condom, but had phrases such as “No. 1 in Japan.”
The subway operator, however, removed all the ads Tuesday even though the contract had not run out, saying they may be against “public sentiment.”
“Apart from the inappropriateness of condom ads inside subway cars, we thought it could run counter to public sentiment following the eruption of a fresh dispute over Dokdo,” a Seoul Metro official said.
She said the breach of contract and possible indemnity is a matter between Okamoto and the subway operator’s subcontractor in charge of ad management.
It’s official! Osaka prefecture has been declared the sexual assault capital of Japan according to statistics maintained by Japan’s National Police Agency.
According to the data, last year one in every 4,200 female residents of Osaka was raped or otherwise sexually assaulted. This compares to one in every 4,600 in Tokyo.
The Osaka rate is double that of Kanagawa Prefecture, which has a similar number of female residents, and nearly five times that of Yamagata Prefecture, which is the safest prefecture for women in Japan.
According to the police, many victims of rape or other sexual assault last year lived alone in apartments. Most of them were attacked from behind soon after opening the door of their apartment. Some offenders managed to enter buildings equipped with auto-lock systems by waiting for a resident to open the door, and then hid in stairwells until they found a target.
Many victims also were attacked on the street while talking on their cell phone, an activity police said can give people a false sense of security about their personal safety.
“People let their guard down when they are on their way home, or talking to people [who they feel close to]. It’s the most dangerous moment,” a police officer said.
So what steps has Osaka taken to deal with the situation? Well, the prefectural police force has assigned two full-time female police officers to a telephone consultation service called Woman Line.
The things you learn online… In this week’s issue of Time Magazine there is an um, ah, er, interesting piece on Japanese pornography featuring the elderly.
Japan is repeatedly found to be one of the most sexless societies in the industrialized world. The WHO reported in March this year found that one in four married couples in Japan had not made love in the previous year, while 38% of couples in their 50s no longer have sex at all. Yet, at the same time, the country has seen a surge in demand for pornography that has turned adult videos into a billion-dollar industry, with “elder porn” one of its fastest growing genres.
Tokuda’s exploits have proved to be a goldmine for Glory Quest, which first launched an “old-man” series, Maniac Training of Lolitas, in December 2004. Its popularity led the company to follow up with Tokuda starring in Forbidden Elderly Care in August 2006. Other series followed, and soon elder porn had revealed itself as a sustainable new revenue stream for the industry. “The adult video industry is very competitive,” says Glory Quest p.r. representative Kayoko Iimura. “If we only make standard fare, we cannot beat other studios. There were already adult videos with Lolitas or themes of incest, so we wanted to make something new. A relationship between wife and an old father-in-law has enough twist to create an atmosphere of mystery and captivate viewers’ hearts.”
Japan’s adult video industry is believed to be worth as much as $1 billion a year according to industry insiders, with the largest rental video store chain Tsutaya releases about 1,000 new titles monthly, while and the mega adult mail-order site DMM releases about 2,000 titles each month. Although films featuring women in their teens and 20s are the mainstay of the industry, a trend toward “mature women” has become evident over the past five years. Currently, about 300 of the 1,000 adult videos on offer at Tsutaya, and 400 out of the 2,000 at DMM, are “mature women” films.
Miyazaki’s death sentence was finalized in February 2006, when the Supreme Court upheld lower court decisions that ruled he was mentally competent to take responsibility for his crimes committed in 1988 and 1989 in Tokyo and Saitama Prefecture.
“He had killed four girls to satisfy his sexual desire,” the Supreme Court ruling said.
During his trial, Miyazaki repeatedly claimed that “a rat man” appeared before he killed the girls. He also said he ate the wrist of one of the girls.
His victims ranged in age from 4 to 7.
Miyazaki reportedly remained unrepentant of his crimes right until the end. In fact, he wrote a letter to Kyodo News shortly before Japan’s Supreme Court upheld his death sentence claiming that he had done “a good thing.” According to one of his defense attorneys, Miyazaki was quite happy to be on death row, because it allowed him to read comic books all day.
The government in China reportedly is modifying the country’s birth control policy in Sichuan because of all the children lost in the recent tragic earthquake there. Because of China’s tough birth control policies, many of the young school students who died in the quake were only children.
Wang Xuegui is a 34-year-old villager who lived in the quake-stricken Yingxiu Town. Both of his two daughters were killed in the earthquake; their bodies were found under the rubble of their collapsed school building. Wang said he was still young and hoped to have children again. He hasn’t talked about this with his wife, who is recovering from a mental breakdown after the loss of their children.
Schools suffered disporportionally large damage in the earthquake, and because of China’s tough birth control policies, many of the students who died in the quake were only children. For many parents who lost a child, they lost all.
According to a new regulation issued by the Chengdu Population and Family Planning Commission, families like Wang Xuegui’s that lost their children or had children disabled in the earthquake are permitted to give birth again. Moreover, families of children who were killed or disabled in the quake and have at least one parent older than 50 will now receive an annual government subsidy of 600 yuan for each parent. Earthquake-impacted families (families that sustained injuries, deaths, or whose property was damaged) that have “illegal” children are no longer required to pay their “social rearing fee”, a fine imposed on families that have unauthorized children. Families that had illegal children of whom only one survived the earthquake can now qualify for the “Single Child Parents Privilege Certificate” and enjoy government subsidies reserved originally only for single-child-families.
